Create a Two-Person Rule for Large Transactions
Checks and balances are especially valuable when emotions are high.
- Choose a household threshold appropriate to your circumstances.
- For example, any transfer above $10,000 could require a 24-hour pause and independent verification.
- The second person should know about the transaction—not necessarily have unrestricted access to the account.
- The rule should apply even when the request appears to come from a trusted person.
